What happens when timing, necessity, and talent all combine? Well in Marie Newel’s case, it means starting a graphic design and marketing company. 

When Neat + Nimble was created, Marie had already been freelancing for a number of years. A graduate of UCM with a degree in graphic design, Marie was uniquely equipped for such a venture. After Marie and her husband, Clayton, had made the decision to start their distillery (Lionheart Whiskey) they knew there would be some lead time on such a endeavor. Marie uses her skill, passion, and years of experience to bring a unique and artistic eye to every project. With an emphasis on quality and candid professionalism, Neat + Nimble provides a large variety of services for small to medium sized businesses and organisations looking to level up the impact of their brands.

While Neat + Nimble is Marie’s main focus it's far from the only business she has a hand in. Including the aforementioned Lionheart Whiskey, they co-own Clout Coffee, Feisty Lemon CraftShop, and her 5 year old’s claw machine business. A lot for sure, but Marie isn’t worried. When I asked her about time management, Marie told me she is very protective of her time. She sets hard boundaries for some things and fairly light boundaries for others. “And I rely on my team.” As well as structuring her week so that every business has its time. She has built a team for Neat + Nimble that she trusts to take care of her clients just as she does.

Marie is a wife and mother of two ambitious daughters. Both of whom own businesses of their own. Marley the eldest is already onto her second. She sold her first business in 2022, a lemonade truck (Quench by Marley), and has recently started her own engraving business at only 10 years old. She even gets her own little office space in the house. Though she needs to be gently reminded from time to time to work on orders, there’s no doubt that Marley is an incredibly driven young person. Not to be out done by her older sister, the youngest Sawyer (now age 5) couldn’t understand why she didn’t own her own business. So, with a little help from mom and dad, a claw machine business was started in the local arcade.

What an incredible legacy Marie and Clayton are building.
